A young man with mental problems and most likely drunk threw himself yesterday from a roof about six meters high in Bobbio (Piacenza) and a carabiniere, the commander of the town station, bent over, placing his back in the path of the flight, to cushion it falling with one's own body.
The twenty-year-old was taken by helicopter to the Maggiore hospital in Parma in medium serious conditions, while the non-commissioned officer was not injured.
It happened yesterday morning around 12.30, in a hamlet.
A call had reported the presence on the roof.
When a soldier approached, trying to climb up, the young man approached the edge and at that point he began to slide towards the void, it is not clear whether voluntarily or due to the state of confusion in which he found himself.
In the impact they both ended up lying on the ground: the 20-year-old suffered various injuries and traumas, but his life is not in danger.
