The emergency services could do nothing to save him.
A 46-year-old man died during the night of Saturday to Sunday March 17, along the D11, near Villepreux (Yvelines), on a road which connects this town to Clayes-sous-Bois.
The tragedy occurred around 2:45 a.m.
The motorist, who fled after the accident, presented himself at the police station this Sunday afternoon.
He is in custody for manslaughter.
Excessive speed?
Consumption of alcohol or drugs?
Lack of visibility on this road located in the countryside?
The circumstances in which the accident occurred are still unknown.

The rescue operations mobilized around ten firefighters and two intervention vehicles.
The victim, who was on foot during the collision, was in cardiorespiratory arrest when firefighters and emergency services arrived on site.
Witnesses from the scene were interviewed this Sunday.
The investigation was entrusted to the Plaisir police officers.
