He wants to “help people feel better about themselves”.
Ejected from the government following the reshuffle, Olivier Véran declared to Le Parisien that he “missed medicine” and that he was going to “return to the blouse one day a week in parallel with (his) mandate as his deputy”.
But he will no longer take on the role of neurologist, the specialty he practiced before being promoted to Minister of Health in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis, in 2020. The former government spokesperson will thus resume his studies to become aesthetic doctor, as he announced in an article published Sunday in Le Figaro.
One day of training per week

As a cosmetic doctor, the elected official from Isère wants to “help people feel better about themselves, in their body” and to “repair themselves after an illness”.
To do this, he will train one day a week at the Clinique des Champs-Élysées in Paris.
The doctor hopes to have obtained three diplomas from the health faculty of Créteil (Val-de-Marne) by the summer, according to the daily.
Olivier Véran, who had already told us his wish to “support women victims of violence”, specified to Le Figaro that he intended to get involved in a “self-defense” organization and in an association of breast cancer victims .
