Unlike the main site of the Godinot Institute, established since the 1970s on the outskirts of Reims, it is a more neutral, warmer place which has just emerged on rue Gambetta, in the city center, opposite the Conservatory.
“The first phase of opening concerns newly diagnosed patients who may be reluctant to enter the doors of a hospital site,” specifies Aude-Marie Savoye, medical oncologist at the Godinot Institute.

Subsequently, this branch will open to people without cancer: for prevention or screening.
And it will be possible to meet specialists there by appointment.
In the short term, around twenty practitioners will take turns each week in the six consultation rooms.
In total, eight specialties will be represented: anesthesia, medical oncology, surgery, sexology, etc.
“Some patients turn away from our main site, they fear coming across people who have been damaged or lost weight due to cancer.
For others, it is difficult to return to the place where they had their chemo, this new place will avoid plunging them back into bad memories while continuing their treatment journey,” promises Aude-Marie Savoye.

Another advantage is easy access on foot or by public transport.
Once through the glass door, every detail has also been designed to break the hospital codes, with a warmer style.
“In the gynecology room, a plant screen adorns the space, we have also installed plants and flowers in the waiting rooms.
This is unthinkable in a hospital environment with the health instructions.
