He is the face of Bavarian craftsmanship: Heinrich Traublinger, master baker from Munich with Erding as his second home.

Yesterday, Sunday, he appeared once again in his adopted home - at the reception of the district craftsmen's association in the Schrannensaal of the Sparkasse.

Erding - As expected, Traublinger shared the criticism of excessive bureaucracy as well as high energy costs and corporate taxes.

But he also held his professional colleagues accountable.

“Our image will only get better if we manage to convince our children and families of what we do,” said Traublinger.

That's what's wrong.

What also worries him is that takeovers of companies are often initiated poorly or too late.

“It's not good if a company first has to feed one family and then after the handover it has to receive two.” He is also critical of the much-quoted and praised start-ups for this reason - “you hardly hear anything about handovers.”

His appeal: “Everyone must ensure that their business is kept up to date.”

Traublinger took a stand for in-company and school training.

A lot has been achieved here, for example through the master bonus.

“In the past, it was all over after the apprenticeship and master’s examination.

Today, bachelor’s and master’s degrees are also possible at the university.” State benefits such as the master’s bonus have contributed to this.

The trades benefit greatly from the Bavarian educational principle “No qualification without a connection”.

This achieves the goal of “establishing equivalence in education with academic professions”.

It is encouraging that the skilled trades lost fewer jobs during the pandemic than other sectors.

However, two million craftsmen retired during this time.

District master craftsman Rudolf Waxenberger used the reception to take stock.

His conclusion: The trades are still doing well, but the problems are increasing, especially in the construction industry (report follows).
