German security authorities need to keep an eye on campaigns from the pro-Russian community, says Serap Güler.
She also sharply criticizes Chancellor Scholz.
Berlin – CDU member of the Bundestag and defense expert Serap Güler warns of attacks by Putin supporters in Germany.
“The danger is definitely increasing.
These don't necessarily have to be explosive attacks.
This can also be symbolic explosive,” said Serap Güler in an interview with

Attacks from the pro-Putin community in Germany: “We need to focus on security authorities”
“There will be massive disinformation campaigns that are intended to divide society,” believes Güler.
So one has to expect that there could be another “Lisa case”.
The case led to diplomatic tensions between Russia and Germany in 2016.
At that time, a false report about an alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl by a “southerner” was spread among the Russian-speaking population in Germany.
This caused a huge media response in Russia.
The allegations later turned out to be fake news.

“It was more than just a cyber attack.
We have to prepare ourselves for the fact that such attacks will soon occur more frequently from a pro-Putin community,” said Serap Güler.
“And the security authorities also need to focus more on this.”
Criticism of Olaf Scholz's attitude to the Taurus delivery
She further criticized the stance of Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) on the delivery of the Taurus cruise missile to Ukraine.
Scholz had made it clear several times that there would be no delivery with him.
“I think he's trying to show strength and leadership, but it's going completely wrong,” said Serap Güler.
She would like Scholz to explain his position to his coalition partners and the opposition leader.
“But the coalition itself hardly seems to be informed anymore.
“You could almost think that our security and defense policy is no longer made in the Bundestag, but in the SPD party headquarters,” said the CDU politician.
Germany is already in a hybrid war with Russia.
“There are cyber attacks on our economy, on our critical infrastructure every day, and high-ranking Bundeswehr officers have been wiretapped by Russian spies.
When the Chancellor says that Germany should not become a war party, then I seriously ask myself what world he actually lives in,” said Güler.
