Hopfgarten in Brixental: A German paraglider pilot collided with the gondola of a cable car here on Sunday.

A fatal accident shocked Tyrol: A paraglider pilot crashed into a cable car there on Sunday and fell into the valley.
Hopfgarten im Brixental — A 65-year-old woman from the Munich district had a fatal accident in Brixental in Tyrol on Sunday (March 17th).
She drifted while paragliding for an unknown reason and crashed into a gondola.

According to a police report from the Tyrol State Police Directorate, the woman started at the starting point from the summit of the Hohe Salve in a southwesterly direction around 11:00 a.m.
Then she was suddenly pushed to the right towards the cable car.
This ultimately led to her paraglider laying over the cable car cables.
The pilot got stuck there and collided with a gondola cabin that was traveling uphill.
According to the report, this cut the suspension lines, causing the woman to fall to the ground in free fall.
The paragliding pilot sustained fatal injuries.

The 65-year-old died at the scene of the accident.
Fatal accident in Tyrol: gondola passengers also injured
The two occupants of the gondola were also injured in the collision.
However, according to the police, the injuries were only minor.
It's not the first time a paraglider has gotten caught in a cable car.
At the end of January, a 65-year-old man had to be rescued from a material cable car in Bavaria.
The pilot was hanging almost upside down from the ground and was in danger of crashing.
In February, mountain rescuers in Tyrol heard mysterious cries for help from the forest.
But a rescue attempt remains unsuccessful.
