Amount to be withdrawn: 5,542.42 euros.

Stéphane Vadepied stared at his mailbox at the end of February.

The supplier Eni Gas & Power asks this resident of Noues-de-Sienne, in Calvados, to regularize his electricity bill for the period 2022-2023/early 2024. “The first year with them, in 2021, I paid 130 euros per month.

They multiplied the price per kilowatt/hour.

They could have warned us,” says the agricultural worker, who claims to have desperately waited for a deadline that never arrived and not to have been subject to an increase before, therefore, receiving his regularization.

A contentious point since the Italian company claims to have warned its customer, by mail, in August 2023. “The height of the bill is partly attributable to the increase in electricity market prices,” says Eni.

Despite this context of energy inflation, Stéphane Vadepied does not understand: “My house is 78 m2.

It is renovated, isolated.

I only heat myself to 19 degrees.

Discussions began between the two parties.

The Norman obtained two reductions to lower the bill to 2,300 euros.

“It’s still excessive,” he proclaims, scalded by reminders of his heavy debt… by SMS.

The company ensures that the latter benefited from the price shield and was offered a payment installment.

Stéphane Vadepied, opposed to the requested amount, refuses.

He contacted UFC Que Choisir and plans to go further, believing he was misled by “a lack of communication”.

His contract with Eni runs until September 2024.
