IDF Spokesman Brigadier General Daniel Hagari on the IDF's activity at the Shifa hospital following information about senior Hamas/Maariv officials
Tonight (Monday), IDF forces launched a targeted operation at Shifa Hospital, following intelligence information about the presence of senior Hamas officials in the area - this is what the IDF spokesman said a short time ago.
According to the report, senior officials of the organization use the hospital to conduct and export terrorist operations.
The IDF spokesperson emphasized that the forces operating in the area of the hospital were trained for the task and briefed in advance regarding the importance of preventing harm to civilians, patients, medical teams and medical equipment. Also, even during the operation, the IDF guarantees the continued operation of the hospital, and brought Arabic speakers to the field, so that they can have a conversation with the patients staying there."

The army also added that "IDF doctors are ready to help those who need it."
The patients and the medical teams do not have to evacuate the hospital, but there is a transition for citizens to leave the area.
In the continuation of the operation and after there is no danger to the IDF forces, the IDF will continue the humanitarian effort and provide food, water and additional supplies to the patients and civilians in the compound.
The army added: "The IDF will continue to act in accordance with international law and against the terrorist organization Hamas, which operates from hospitals and civilian infrastructure in a systematic and cynical pattern of operation, without distinguishing between the civilian population and the organization's terrorists."
