The spring reception of Alliance 90/The Greens in the “Blou” sports restaurant in Langengeisling turned into a meeting of diverse encounters.

Erding - At the beginning, around 60 farmers drew attention to their concerns with a vigil outside.

The parliamentary group leader of the state parliamentary group, Katharina Schulze, declared herself ready to enter into dialogue with them.

“First of all, the nice thing about democracy is that you can always demonstrate,” she opened the conversation and referred to the immediate reaction of the Bavarian Greens to campaign for reforms in agriculture: the vehicle tax exemption remains in place, as does the argradiesel tax break but will be gradually melted away.

“One thing unites us: If we do not manage to get the climate crisis under control, we will all suffer from it.” It must be a common task to “protect our planet,” emphasized Schulze and criticized “30 years of failed agricultural policy Union".

She took note of a comment from a discussant that sewage treatment plants needed to be better controlled.

“I don’t want to hear or see any riots,” warned Andreas Zimmer from “Agriculture Connects” (LSV-Bayern) at the beginning of the farmers’ campaign, in which the Bavarian Farmers’ Association (BBV) and the Federal Association of German Dairy Farmers (BDM) also took part.

The police and detectives were on site observing and intent on de-escalation.

Your intervention was not necessary.

Everyone involved discussed on an equal level.

District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer (CSU) positioned himself on the side of the farmers.

His party colleague, Erding's mayor Max Gotz, made an impressive plea for democracy as a guest speaker at the Green reception, showing a clear stance against the threatening shift to the right and also against the populism of Deputy Prime Minister Hubert Aiwanger.

Gotz: “I find that unbearable for Bavaria.”

In her speech, Schulze also appealed to stand together democratically and relied on optimistic impulses to lift up the “exhausted society”.

It gave her a lot of strength that so many people took to the streets for democracy.

The news that the climate goals can be achieved by 2030 is “great”.

Schulze encouraged people to get politically involved, to bring forward innovative ideas for a climate-friendly world, and favored a holistic education policy in which artistic creativity should play a central role.

“Go vote!” emphasized Maximilian Retzer, the Bavarian Green Party’s leading candidate for the European elections.

A strong democratic EU representation protects against right-wing extremism, “hatred and incitement”.

His credo: “Europe is the best idea Europe has ever had.”

In their double moderation, Green Party spokespersons Annett Burgarth and Carola Bock welcomed the festival community, including representatives from educational institutions, social associations and agriculture.

Because of the current riots against the Greens, there was a fixed guest list, which was spontaneously opened to additional agricultural representatives due to the vigil.
