At its head, Professor Daniel Cherqui, pioneer in non-invasive intervention by laparoscopy, a procedure “less risky, with a small incision and a small scar”.
It was at the CHB, which did not yet exist in its current form, that a child with an adult liver was transplanted in 1981, a first in the world.
Then, the first transplant of three patients from a single graft was carried out in 1999, and a year later the first living donor transplant program took place.
He is celebrating his 30th birthday this Tuesday, receiving for the occasion Frédéric Valletoux, Minister Delegate in charge of Health and Prevention.
