President
Javier Milei
participates this Monday in the central event for the
32nd anniversary of the terrorist attack against the Israeli Embassy
in Buenos Aires, which left 29 dead on March 17, 1992. With his presence, he becomes the second head of state to attend on the commemorative date, since Carlos Menem who did so in 1993.

The anniversary date was last Sunday, March 17, but the organization decided to move the event to this Monday, the 18th. As is tradition,
a siren will sound at 2:50 p.m., the time of the attack.
On March 17, 1992,

, the armed wing of the terrorist organization
Hezbollah
, crashed a Ford F-100 pickup truck into the Embassy building.
The explosion destroyed
the diplomatic headquarters, the Madre Admirable parish, a nursing home, a school
, part of the surrounding buildings and houses.
It left
29 dead and about 200 injured
.
The highest Israeli authority who will be present is Jonathan Peled, deputy director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Foreign Ministry, in addition to ambassador
Eyal Sela.
This attack preceded the attack on the
Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA)
on July 18, 1994, which left 85 dead.
In both situations, the Argentine Justice, Israel and the United States held the Shiite militia Hezbollah responsible for the attacks, in connection with local points and at times when Menem governed.
