Sports lovers will already know Jessy Wellmer, but she has been working as a “Tagesthemen” spokeswoman since 2023.
The journalist initially received support from Judith Rakers.
Leipzig – On March 15th, the presenters Kim Fisher (54) and Matze Knop (49) once again invited well-known guests to their “Riverboat” studio in Leipzig.
Including the new “Tagesthemen” spokeswoman Jessy Wellmer (44).
On the talk show, she talked about her move to the news program and revealed who supported her on her first show.
First broadcast with ex-“Tagesschau” spokeswoman Judith Rakers
After 19 years at the “Tagesschau”, Judith Rakers (48) said goodbye as spokeswoman for the ARD news program – but she didn’t make the decision overnight.
Journalist Jessy Wellmer also longed for a change of scenery: After her long work as a presenter for “Sportschau”, she switched to “Tagesthemen” in 2023.

The former “Tagesschau” spokeswoman “helped the 44-year-old a lot.”
Rakers also “rode Wellmer through the show,” says the “Riverboat” guest in an interview with Matze Knop.
Even before the show began, Rakers motivated her colleague and said: “Jessy, think about the moment after the jump.”

But even in between, Judith Rakers praised Jessy Wellmer for her performance and continued to encourage her.
“And so she guided me through this show and motivated me and practically said after every moderation: 'Great!',” reveals the former sports presenter.
Wellmer had the feeling that Rakers was talking to an eight-year-old - but at the same time it was a great "achievement" how Wellmer was introduced to the studio by Rakers in a "cool and casual" way.

Despite leaving the “Tagesschau”, Judith Rakers can be seen as a show host on the talk show “3nach9”.
On March 8th, the 48-year-old was able to welcome a very special guest with her colleague Giovanni di Lorenzo (65).
