The magistrate uses the right not to respond, he had to be heard for the investigation into unauthorized access. Laudati is accused of four reports (one on a real estate deal in Santa Severa, the second on the president of the Gravina Football Federation, and two events linked to money laundering in amateur teams and in the world of sports agents) which he should not have sent to the district attorneys' offices.

The deputy anti-mafia prosecutor Antonio Laudati availed himself of the right not to answer during the interrogation at the prosecutor's office in Perugia as part of the investigation into the alleged abusive access to the databases of his office carried out by the financial police lieutenant Pasquale Striano

.

File in which Laudati himself is investigated.

The magistrate did not appear before the prosecutors but his defenders represented his desire to make use of the right not to answer.

The magistrate's defender reported this as he left the courthouse.

"I have never accessed computer systems; I have never had any relationship, not even acquaintance, with the journalists who are under investigation

; I have never built dossiers to spy on or blackmail politicians or famous people": this was underlined by the deputy prosecutor anti-mafia Antonio Laudati regarding the Perugia investigation. For Laudati "all the investigations were determined by investigative needs, in the exclusive interest of the Office".

"There has never been anything I did for personal reasons.

On the basis of pre-investigative investigations I gave impetus to activities which then resulted in proceedings. And, above all, everything that came out of the National Anti-Mafia Directorate had the signature of the national prosecutor".

With people close to him, the deputy prosecutor at the National Anti-Mafia Directorate Antonio Laudati thus claimed the correctness of his actions, as reported by Repubblica.

The magistrate will be heard today by the Perugia prosecutor's office, which investigated him in the investigation relating to the alleged dossiers and abusive access to databases, in collaboration with the financier Pasquale Striano, for abusive access to computer systems, forgery and abuse of office

.

In particular, the magistrate is accused of four reports (one on a real estate deal in Santa Severa, the second on the president of the Gravina Football Federation, and two events linked to money laundering in amateur teams and in the world of sports agents) which he should not have sent to the district attorneys' offices, as they relate to issues not related to organized crime.

"In the cases contested in the invitation to appear, I limited myself to delegating investigative insights to the DNA SOS group, in full compliance with the laws, service provisions and under the full control of the national anti-mafia and anti-terrorism prosecutor"

: thus the deputy prosecutor anti-mafia Antonio Laudati in a note released through his lawyer, the lawyer Andrea Castaldo upon leaving the Perugia prosecutor's office.

"After the massive and uncontrolled dissemination of information covered by the secrecy of the investigation,

I believe that at the moment the conditions do not exist for carrying out the interrogation, which was widely announced by the press, to concretely exercise the right of defense and to provide a contribution to the reconstruction of the facts" claimed the magistrate.

"There is an ongoing debate - he added - in all the national media, in which very serious (and certainly defamatory) facts are attributed to me which are completely different from the allegations indicated in the invitation to appear, notified to me on 26 February, especially different from the reality I know."

"All the investigations - Laudati further explained - were determined by investigative needs, in the exclusive interest of the Office and concern people unknown to me and in respect of whom I had no personal interest nor any intent to harm. It was not one of my duties of deputy prosecutor are to control the police personnel attached to the DNA, nor to verify access to the database. As soon as I have the opportunity to formally know the documents, I will not shy away from the need to provide all the clarifications necessary for the investigation of the truth, the full correctness of my actions and affirmation of Justice, in which I firmly believe".

Laudati Defense: 'Cafiero de Raho terminal of impulse activities'

"The chief prosecutor knows in the sense that it is the terminal moment of a series of impulse activities which are then transmitted to the competent prosecutors":

the lawyer

Andrea Castaldo, defender of Antonio Laudati, responded thus to ANSA which told him asked if the former anti-mafia prosecutor Federico Cafiero de Raho knew of the activities carried out by his client.

He did so by leaving the Perugia prosecutor's office.

Antonio Laudati "is very stressed" he is "at a particular moment in his career and his life" we "could have technically asked for a postponement for health reasons but we did not do so out of respect for the investigation and the Prosecutor's Office, because we did not want that it seemed like an escape route."

This was said by the lawyer Andrea Castaldo, leaving the Perugian offices after his client decided "not to show up to avoid the media outcry" but chose to make use of the right not to respond in the context of the investigation into illegal access to the anti-mafia prosecutor.

Anti-Mafia Vice President: it is urgent that de Raho abstains from work

"Reading the statements of the prosecutor Laudati on the dossier, the desirability of Cafiero de Raho abstaining from the activities of the National Anti-Mafia Commission, of which he is vice-president, emerges with extreme clarity and urgency. Laudati declares that he has delegated the activities that are contested to him under the full control of the then national prosecutor, i.e. de Raho. His abstention from the Commission is a need and an urgency in which politics has nothing to do with it: it is appropriate to allow the peaceful carrying out of the activities of the parliamentary Commission".

Thus in a note the vice-president of the anti-mafia commission, Mauro D'Attis.
