Mail delivery could experience some new difficulties in Hauts-de-Seine.

At issue: a call for a strike and a rally, this Tuesday, from 9 a.m., in front of the group's headquarters in Paris.

An appeal launched by the Sud Poste 92 union which denounces the preparation of a wave of closures of distribution centers across the four corners of the department.

According to the union organization, at least five centers would thus be threatened despite the opposition of postal workers and the majority unions who have already carried out several small walkouts last week: Levallois-Perret, La Garenne-Colombes, Malakoff-Vanves, Gennevilliers and Clamart -Meudon.

“It has been in the pipeline for a while but there has been a real acceleration since the beginning of 2024,” regrets Xavier Chiarelli, South Post 92 delegate. This is a deterioration of the public service, we are taking mail carriers away from their users by relocating their center outside the city where they distribute.

Users will no longer have a center in their city where they can make complaints.

“Projects are carried out in compliance with the rules of social dialogue”

A deterioration of service which, according to the union, takes place on the altar of “real estate speculation.

» “Concentrating distribution centers makes it possible to eliminate workstations, but it is also a way to make a profit,” denounces the organization in a press release.

Reselling public heritage buildings, which cost the company nothing and are often well located, is a way to earn a lot and quickly..."

For its part, La Poste unsurprisingly justifies its concentration policy by “the structural decline in mail volumes”.

“La Poste is adapting its platforms, by transferring activities from dilapidated postal sites to sites already in operation, nearby, modern or renovated, more spacious, thus offering a better quality of life at work for postal workers,” explains management. .

The projects are currently being carried out in compliance with the rules of social dialogue, and will have no impact on the delivery of mail, 6 days a week, to our customers.
