Because he alerted the police and saved his neighbor from an unfortunate situation, Andreas Scholl from Miesbach was honored for his moral courage.

Miesbach – civil courage, looking out for each other, helping.

Andreas Scholl acted accordingly and thereby saved a neighbor from a helpless situation.

For this, the 37-year-old from Miesbach received recognition from the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters last Tuesday.

“Your actions were able to set the rescue chain in motion,” praised Katharina Schreiber, head of the Miesbach office, and handed over a certificate and 110 euros on behalf of Police Chief Manfred Hauser.

Miesbacher listens to his gut feeling and calls the police

Scholl had heard strange noises coming from a neighboring apartment.

“I had a bad feeling,” said Scholl.

After no one responded to his ringing and knocking on the apartment door, he went to the Miesbach police station not far away.

Two officers went back to the apartment, ultimately the fire department opened the door and the emergency services took the injured senior to the hospital.

He was lying on the ground with a head wound and was unable to help himself.

The police praise Andreas Scholl for his exemplary and courageous behavior.

For the honoree himself, this was self-evident.

“It is important in our society that we pay more attention to one another and stick together,” says the 37-year-old.

“A great attitude,” praised PI head Schreiber.

Everyone should “keep their eyes and ears open,” she emphasized.

It is better to call the emergency number once for free than once too little.

This could end badly.

Who knows when Scholl's neighbor would have been found if the 37-year-old hadn't gotten help.
