In Europe, the Nestlé group has reached the milestone of 95% of the packaging of its products designed for recycling.

As regards plastic packaging, again at a European level, almost 83% of that used by Nestlé is already designed to be recycled, and in the last 5 years the group has managed to reduce the use of virgin plastic by 33%.

These are the data that Nestlé released today on the occasion of World Recycling Day, reiterating its commitments to improve recycling processes and waste management.

Nestlé is focusing on developing packaging that uses less raw material, making it lighter and eliminating unnecessary plastic lids, accessories, layers and films.

The group continues to test packaging alternatives, experimenting with the use of reuse and refill systems that involve the distribution of loose products and reusable packaging.

Furthermore, Nestlé is gradually eliminating packaging that is not widely recycled, and studying solutions that include alternative materials, such as paper.
