An investigation was opened after the discovery during the night from Saturday to Sunday in Villeneuve d'Ascq (North) of a charred body in a burned rental vehicle, according to police and judicial sources, cited by AFP.
The body was discovered in a street in Villeneuve d'Ascq near a highway, in a burnt Audi vehicle, said the Lille prosecutor's office, confirming information from the newspaper

According to the prosecution,
“the victim is a 28-year-old man from the North”
and
“medico-legal investigations, including an autopsy, are underway”
Monday as part of the investigation surrounding his death.
According to a police source, the police, who intervened after the fire was extinguished by the firefighters, discovered the charred body in the front passenger seat.
During the findings, a man showed up on the scene, saying he was looking for his brother, known to the law, and who was using a vehicle of the same brand.
This man explained that he had been informed around 1 a.m. that his brother had been attacked, without giving further details.
