After the snowfall in December, an 82-year-old from Schliersee waited weeks for his phone to be repaired.
Now Telekom has commented on this.
Schliersee
– Telekom received over 1,000 fault reports in December 2023.
One of them came from Karl B. Kögl from Fischhausen.
As reported, Telekom put the 82-year-old off for almost two months until he finally took care of the repairs himself.
Now the company has commented.
Telekom answers demand: Repair delayed due to weather
When asked by our newspaper, Telekom wrote after a few weeks that the disruption at Kögl could not be resolved due to the weather.
In the meantime, he had also contacted State Parliament member Ilse Aigner (CSU), who in turn wrote to Telekom and asked for quick clarification.
In a statement that is now available, the company explains: “In order to eliminate damage to our infrastructure, we are working with external and regional contractors.” Typically, disruptions are resolved within two days.
Telekom explains that the repairs were delayed in this case due to the weather conditions in December of last year and at the beginning of this year.
“Many of the damage sites were difficult or impossible to access for the fitters.”
More than 1000 fault reports in December and January
In addition, the snowfall resulted in more than 1,000 disruption reports during this period, which caused further delays.
“In addition, in such exceptional situations, critical infrastructure, disruptions with imminent danger, traffic safety and the like must be prioritized,” it continues.
For some private customers, the appointments have therefore been postponed.
Telekom assures that it will use these cases as an opportunity to improve processes with contractors.
