They will be called Chiara, Paolo, but also Anna, Riccardo, Maria: these are some of the 13 names chosen by the municipal administration of Villa del Conte, in the Padua area, for the plants that will be inserted in the public parks of the area of the capital and of the hamlet of Abbazia Pisani.
The initiative, entitled "Live Roots", will be made official next Saturday in front of the citizens.
The idea, underlines the mayor
Antonella Argenti
, "is to bring together protection of the
territory, environment and family: giving a name to a park means making it closer to the people and the community
, and becomes an incentive to take care of it".
The new shrubs, therefore, all strictly native such as the ash, the maple and the hornbeam, and of an already significant height, will be accompanied by a naming plaque which will show one of the 13 most common names in the Municipality, seven female and six male .
So in addition to Chiara, Paolo, Anna, Riccardo, Maria, there are also Luca, Mattia, Sofia, Giulia, Pietro, Alberto, Francesca and Alice.
"The trees that we are going to plant will not only be symbols of growth and life - adds the mayor - but will also be
witnesses of our stories, our successes and our challenges"
.
An explicit invitation to enhance the theme of social inclusion.
"This gesture reflects our commitment to the inclusion of everyone and the respect of every single person who is part of our social fabric - confirms Argenti - but it is also a project absolutely in line with the values of this administration which in all these years has never failed to combine a strategy aimed at the development of the territory with a strong attention to the environment and the young, if not very young generations".
A gesture that also aims to be a sign of hope for the future.
"Each tree will in fact be planted with love and care, symbolizing our gratitude for every new life that has contributed to making our municipality a special place - concludes the councilor for youth policies, Elena Vittadello -. These trees will be witnesses of our hopes for the future and of our desire to preserve and protect the beauty of the nature that surrounds us".
