The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the storming of the US Capitol has not yet been completed.
Donald Trump continues to emphasize his innocence.
Washington, D.C.
– Even if they belong to the same party, they will probably no longer be close friends.
The Republican and declared Trump opponent Liz Cheney recently expressed her disappointment after the Supreme Court's decision to postpone the court hearings on Trump's immunity until April.
The delay in the trial against Trump “suppresses important evidence that Americans deserve to hear,” Cheney said on the online service X. Ultimately, Trump tried to overturn an election result “and seize power,” said Cheney.
“Our justice system must be able to bring him to justice before the next election.”

Storming of the Capitol was “peaceful” and patriotic, according to Trump
The special committee released its final report in December 2022. The 845-page report details alleged efforts by Trump and his allies to distort the results of the 2020 election and analyzes the events of January 6.
In February, the special committee filed a criminal complaint with the Justice Department and recommended that Trump be indicted.
The former president criticized the committee's report, calling it "highly partisan" and part of a "witch hunt."
Trump repeatedly emphasized that his supporters acted “peacefully” and patriotically on January 6th.
Donald Trump will most likely run against incumbent Democratic President Joe Biden in the 2024 US election.
