An unknown person threw a Christmas tree onto the S-Bahn tracks at a train station in Remshalden (Rems-Murr district), causing an accident.
A train driver braked immediately when he saw the tree, but the train still collided with the Christmas tree, as the federal police announced on Monday.
The as yet unknown perpetrator may have thrown the tree from a bridge onto the tracks on Sunday.
Remshalden - According to witness statements, the individual parts of the tree were spread over the entire length of the platform.
Nobody got hurt.
As a railway spokesman said, the passengers were able to get off and continue on another train.
The track was therefore blocked for around two hours.
The police are investigating a dangerous interference with rail traffic.
