A court in the northern Italian city of Pordenone on Monday handed a suspended jail term of two years, six months to an American servicewoman over a road accident in which a 15-year-old boy was killed.
Julia Bravo, 21, hit and killed Giovanni Zanier when he was on a cycle path in the town of Porcia in August, 2022, while she was serving at the USAF Base in Aviano.
The court did not recognize drink-driving as being an aggravating factor because, even though Bravo was positive in an alcohol test, the test was not considered valid as it was done more than two hours after the accident.
