Gordo has come a long way.
The sores spread across the puppy's plump little body are only just beginning to heal.
“He will never return to normal, he will remain scarred for life,” comments Anne-Claire Chauvancy, president of the APA (Action Protection Animale) while cuddling him.
The nine-month-old English bulldog went through hell about ten days ago.
Annoyed by the dirt and hair Gordo left behind, his owner decided to punish him by burning him with a hairdryer.
“He was burned on almost 40% of his body.
This torture session must have lasted several minutes, he must have suffered martyrdom,” breathes Anne-Claire.
Gordo remained without treatment for three days, causing an “extremely significant” infection in the wounds.
It was at the veterinarian that the police came to seize the puppy, after an anonymous report.

If cases of severe mistreatment are the daily life of the association, Gordo's story has left its mark.
“Cases this serious, with such a desire to cause suffering, that such significant pain is inflicted… This is a case that particularly shocked us,” confides its president.
This is not the first time that the puppy's 34-year-old owner has committed acts of abuse.
Gordo has already had surgery for a broken hip, following violence when he was just three months old.
She was summoned to the Torcy police station on March 14, then placed in police custody.
She will be tried in appearance on prior admission of guilt (CRPC), on September 30 at the Meaux judicial court.
The Animal Protection Association also announces that it is filing a complaint against the young woman for “act of cruelty towards an animal” and “deprivation of care”.
The association is now looking for a new family to welcome the little puppy.
