A week with marked differences begins.

Météo France anticipates that it will somehow be split into two episodes: the first part runs until Wednesday and includes sunshine and fairly high temperatures for the season, the rest should be made up of increasingly rainy deterioration with temperatures generally trending downward.

Monday: good weather sets in

After a Sunday marked by rain in many regions, the situation will change throughout the day on Monday.

The morning will be almost everywhere overcast and even still rainy in the east and the Alps.

Then the sun quickly gains ground in the south and east of the country.

In the afternoon, France will be cut in two with clouds to the west of a line going from Hauts-de-France to the Pyrenees and more and more sun to the east.

At the end of the day and in the evening, this movement will increase and the sky will be clear over almost the entire territory.

Maximum temperatures are expected to be between 14°C and 18°C in the north of the country, around 4°C-5°C higher than seasonal averages.

In the south of France they should essentially be between 18°C and 20°C, again higher in the same proportions than “normal”.

In the Pyrénées-Orientales and Hérault, by the sea, it could be hotter, up to 23°C or even 24°C, or up to 8°C above average.

Tuesday: full sun

The sky will be clear throughout the country from the morning, with the exception of Brittany, the Channel and the north-east border.

In the afternoon, the sun is present over almost the entire territory, sometimes slightly veiled and locally hidden, particularly on the Breton and Normandy tips.

A few storms are possible in the Pyrénées-Orientales sector, particularly in the mountains.

The temperatures will be similar to those of the day before, a little lower at the seaside. Apart from Brittany, below 15°C, the values will be fairly uniform across the whole country, between 15°C and 20° vs.

With exposure to the sun, the feeling will reach or even exceed 25°C.

Wednesday: still sunshine, but a few storms in the South-West

The sun will continue to shine in most areas.

However, the morning will be overcast in the west of the country before the sun takes over.

In the afternoon, thunderstorms should take shape in the South-West, first in the Pyrenees, before gaining ground in New Aquitaine at the end of the day and in the evening.

Like the day before, temperatures should be between around fifteen and around twenty degrees across the country, significantly above average, 7°C more in the case of Île-de-France.

In the capital region, a day worthy of May should take place.

Thursday: end of the parenthesis

This day should mark the gradual return of clouds and showers.

The sun should still be present in the morning on an axis going from Bordeaux (Gironde) to Reims (Marne) as well as in the South-East.

But the clouds gain ground as the day goes on.

Only the edges of the Mediterranean in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region would remain under the sun.

The rain would affect the entire east of the country, going from Alsace to the Pyrenees.

Temperatures would decrease by one or two degrees compared to the day before with maximums not exceeding 17°C in the North and 19°C in the South.

With the presence of clouds, or even rain, the difference in feeling from the day before could reach around ten degrees downward.

Friday: two Frances, in the rain in the North, with sunshine in the South

The trend for Friday would be an increase in rain in the north of the country as the day progresses.

The South would remain under the sun.

But the number of regions concerned would reduce over time.

The maximums would not exceed 15°C in the north of the country, but would still be between 2°C and 3°C above average.

In the southern part, they will range from around fifteen to around twenty degrees, again two or three units higher than the seasonal norm.

Weekend: take out the umbrellas!

The first trend is for a rainy weekend, all accompanied by a drop in temperatures.

At this time, this is a scenario that remains to be clarified.

Precipitation would be widespread, except near the Mediterranean.

The Alpes-Maritimes could, however, be watered at the end of the day on Sunday.

In the North, maximum temperatures would drop back below 15°C and return to seasonal levels, or even a little less.

In the South, except near the sea, they would be of the same order.

It would be a little over 15°C near the Mediterranean.
