The young farmers in Altenerding have had an eventful year.

The next major event is already looming.

The board has now been elected for the first time.

Altenerding - A whole bunch of men sit at the table with beer and schnitzel - and talk about clothing sizes.

Whether a size 54 would have been better, the 52 is a bit tight.

On the other hand, it looks tighter.

And who knows what can happen in a year.

Meanwhile, around 20 men line up in the packed hall of the Altenerdinger Lindenwirt to have their bodies measured to the correct size.

The Altenerding Young Farmers' Association is already in the first phase of preparations for its 75th anniversary celebration next year.

Of course you have to have matching vests.

The rush to the general meeting with new elections was correspondingly large.

The club had 95 eligible members, chairman Josef Fehlberger opened the evening.

He was completely overwhelmed that, thanks to the farmer's wedding at the end of January, they were able to record such a large increase in membership: “We assumed an increase from 680 to 700.

But we now have 744 members,” Fehlberger announced, accompanied by cheers and applause.

He then looked back over the past year and listed the numerous highlights.

These include the attended flag consecrations in Pastetten and Oberneuching, excursions, carnival festivals, Maypole tour, the visit to the Erdinger Volksfest in the foundation tent, the visit of almost 50 children as Santa Claus and the two self-organized Christmas parties for young and old.

Preparations for the farmer's wedding were still hovering over the club throughout 2023.

After all, there was a lot of preparation and a lot of organization involved, just like the bachelor party.

The wedding shop in particular provided many a debaucherous weekend, Fehlberger recalled with a smile and received approving nods and laughter.

Ultimately, the more than 600 members had to be personally visited and invited with a Gstanzl - of course not without forgetting the physical well-being and refreshments.

He was all the more relieved that “everything went like clockwork for the celebration itself.”

Treasurer Jonas Schmid was represented by his deputy Sebastian Bauschmid.

For the year 2023, which is now being discussed, “things are looking good for the club financially, but things will be exciting next year when all the costs associated with the farmer’s wedding have been calculated,” predicted Bauschmid.

The board was unanimously discharged - and new elections began.

These took place so harmoniously that every candidate was unanimously elected to office.

Josef Fehlberger continues to chair the board, his deputy is now Louis Schmid.

Melani Schmid and Vroni Bichlmaier will represent the girls.

Jonas Schmid said that he would be happy to take on the position of cashier again.

The deputy is now the responsibility of the previous assessor Magdalena Berger.

Pia Orthuber replaces Sophia Wurzer as secretary.

Viktoria Wurzer takes over from Simon Pirschlinger as deputy treasurer.

The newly elected assessors are Markus Sellmeier, Franz Fehlberger, Hannes Grad, Max Ammann, Hannes Fehlberger, Magdalena Wurzer and Emilia Numberger.

Fehlberger looked ahead to the current year: The premiere of the play “Testament with Waiting Time” at the Wirt z'Riedersheim is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, March 20th.

Tried-and-tested events such as the Maibaumstüberl tour, visits to other club festivals, the tram party in Munich or the autumn festival are on the program again this year.

And of course there is already enough to prepare now: Because the founding celebration for the 75-year-old needs to be planned well in advance, Fehlberger reminded us - then ideally with all the appropriate new bodies.
