Suddenly the water rises around a mobile home and a tube filled with air gradually appears, unfolding a waterproof black tarpaulin beneath it, preventing water from penetrating inside.
This innovative solution, more sophisticated and effective than traditional sandbags placed in front of homes to try to protect them against flooding, was developed by the French start-up Floodframe.
It was tested on Thursday in front of an audience of local elected officials and association representatives, during the inauguration of a flood testing center, located in Baziège, 25 kilometers from Toulouse.
