Update from March 21, 2024: 

An investigation has been initiated against three employees of The London Clini hospital, where Princess Kate and King Charles (75) were treated, as they are suspected of having accessed Kate's confidential medical files.

Clinic boss Al Russell: “All of our patients, regardless of their status, deserve complete privacy”

London Clinic chief executive Al Russell issued a statement: “There is no place in our hospital for those who deliberately abuse the trust of our patients or colleagues.” He continued: “We have systems in place to monitor the management of patient information and in the event of a violation, all appropriate investigative, regulatory and disciplinary measures will be taken.”

The investigation is underway against three employees of The London Clinic for accessing Princess Kate's private medical files, but the royal cannot yet breathe a sigh of relief (photo montage).

The allegations sent shockwaves through the hospital in Marylebone, central London, known for its discreet treatment of the royal family, former presidents, prime ministers and celebrities.

Apparently, the hospital's chief executive contacted Kensington Palace immediately after the incident came to their attention and assured the palace that a full investigation would be launched.

The entire medical staff is deeply disturbed by the allegations and shocked that a trusted colleague could be responsible for such a massive breach of trust and ethics.

A spokesman for the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) said: "We can confirm that we have received a breach report and are assessing the information provided." The London clinic refused to comment on the claims and is doing damage control: "We strongly believe that “We believe that all our patients, regardless of their status, deserve complete privacy and confidentiality regarding their medical information.” A spokesman for Kensington Palace said: “This is a matter for the London Clinic.”

not confirm whether they had been informed of the allegations.

The security gap opened up when Princess Kate and Prince William (41) paid a visit to the local farm shop in Windsor and there finally seemed to be some calm after the photo disaster involving the mother of three on Mother's Day (March 10th in Great Britain).
