Six days since the raid on Shifa Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip - and the fighting in the terror stronghold continues.
During the night, there were exchanges of fire between IDF forces and terrorist squads in the hospital complex, during which several terrorists were killed. Army officials estimate that dozens of terrorists, including senior Hamas officials, are still hiding in the offices and departments of the medical institution - while using civilians as human shields.
Meanwhile , documentation revealed by the IDF shows the fighters of the 401st Brigade and the 13th Fleet raiding additional areas of the compound, confiscating weapons and eliminating terrorists in direct firefights.
As part of the operation, the forces opened a population evacuation route through which non-suspect civilians could leave the hospital complex.
The military operation on the medical center began following intelligence information about the presence of senior Hamas officials in the area.
According to the IDF spokesman, the senior officials of the organization returned to using the hospital to conduct and export terrorist operations, after they returned to it thinking that the IDF would not return.
At the start of the operation, the hospital area is called, and explosions and gunshots are heard there.
During the night, the forces launched light bombs in the area of the hospital.
IDF forces allowed hundreds of Palestinian civilians to leave the hospital compound. An IDF spokesman said that as part of the operation, "during the encirclement, fire was opened by terrorists from within the hospital compound towards our forces who returned fire and hit the terrorists. Our forces continue to operate in the area of the hospital."

Following intelligence from AMN and the Shin Bet, according to which Hamas terrorists and its officials in the north of the Gaza Strip were drained at the hospital.

The operation began at 02:30 in the morning, when the IDF unexpectedly raided the hospital, and surrounded the area under the command of Division 162, in cooperation with the Shin Bet. Armored Brigade 401 and forces Special forces took part in the operation.
Upon arrival there, the army stationed itself in several buildings and surrounded them, and the terrorists who were in them were unable to escape from them. The quick covert arrival of the troops allowed the army to quickly close the entire hospital. During all that time, shots were fired from several windows and buildings at the troops.
Last November, the IDF and Shin Bet forces revealed that the tunnel at the Shifa Hospital passes mostly under the hospital buildings. In the tunnel, they located war rooms, a living room and an air-conditioned hiding place, as well as toilets and a kitchen for extended stays. The forces also located a shaft that exits from an institution educational and another shaft in the area next to the hospital. In addition, the forces located in the area of the hospital many weapons as well as findings that can testify to a previous stay of abductees.
