Russian President Vladimir Putin today declared a day of national mourning in his country following the deadly attack on a concert hall in the city of Korkus, near Moscow, during which more than 133 people were killed.

Earlier today, 11 suspects were arrested for involvement in the attack, including four who took a direct part in its execution.

Although the responsibility for the mass terrorist incident was accepted by ISIS - a statement approved by the United States - the security services in Russia connected the terrorists with "factors in Ukraine".

In his speech, Putin expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the attack, and said that security in the country had been increased in his wake.

He also announced a national day of mourning to be held tomorrow.

He threatened to punish all those "responsible for the attack", and claimed that the terrorists tried to escape to Ukraine.

In Russia, a video was published showing the interrogation of two of the suspects, citizens of Turkey who do not speak Russian.

One of them admitted that he carried out the attack after an assistant of a Muslim cleric contacted him: "I was promised half a million rubles. They asked me to shoot people - no matter who."
