A 21-year-old individual was to be presented this afternoon for immediate appearance at the Paris judicial court
“for a break-in”
in August 2023 at the home of Anne-Sophie Lapix,
Le Figaro
learned from the Paris prosecutor's office.
The young man risks up to five years in prison and a fine of 75,000 euros.
Hooded individuals
Anne-Sophie Lapix would therefore have been the victim of home-jacking or attempted home-jacking at least three times.
In August 2023, but also twice at the start of 2024. On the night of January 20 to 21, five people suspected of attempted burglary in the journalist's private mansion were arrested.
Around 3:15 a.m., the hooded individuals tried to break into the France Télévisions journalist's home by scaling the entrance gate.
It was the son of Anne-Sophie Lapix, present at the home at the time of the incident, who put the suspects to flight.
But the fifty-year-old was not at the end of her troubles.
On March 29 around 10 p.m., she called the police after discovering signs of a break-in on a window in her bedroom.
According to
Le Parisien
, a police crew went to his home to take samples.
Arriving on the scene, the police had spotted
“traces of weighing at the level of a window of a room on the first floor overlooking the rear of the mansion”
, report our colleagues.
Chain homejackings
The year 2023 was marked by numerous home-jackings, particularly among celebrities.
From January to November, the police headquarters recorded a total of 288 home-jackings in Paris and its nearby suburbs.
Moreover, among TV stars, the police have notified the same operating procedure.
The burglary generally lasts less than an hour, takes place in the middle of the night or early in the morning and the perpetrators are armed with handguns or bladed weapons.
On New Year's Eve, it was the host Nikos Aliagas who was the victim of a burglary.
Damage to the gate and the lock of its front door had been reported.
Five suspects were also arrested at the scene.
A few days before, on the night of December 26 to 27, chef and pastry chef Cyril Lignac was robbed at his Parisian home.
Watches, haute couture bags and a pair of sports shoes were stolen for a total loss of 300,000 euros.
One and the same organization?
A week earlier, singer Vitaa, her husband and their three children were victims of a violent burglary at their home.
The perpetrators showed up with a baseball bat and managed to leave with luxury leather goods.
At this stage of the investigations, it is impossible to link the burglaries to a single organization.
However, according to
Le Parisien
, the justice system considers that the suspects arrested are only small fish in a large ocean of burglaries of the properties of famous people.
Investigators are now looking for the individuals at the head of the network.
