Since the parish council no longer exists, the role of the Catholic Women's Community (Kfd) has become even more important in Buch am Buchrain.

The women now take care of various tasks in the community and parish, such as the seniors' afternoon.

The top management will remain unchanged for the next four years.

Buch am Buchrain - Anneliese Haberl, who took over the office from Resi Kunstwadl in 2020 and is also involved in the church as a sacristan, was re-elected as chairwoman at the annual general meeting.

Her deputy Sabine Perner also ran again.

As secretary, Elisabeth Huber replaces Resi Reiser, who is moving to the advisory team.

Other assessors and auditors are Marianne Köck and Elisabeth Hufschmid.

Maria Lohner is also new as a cashier.

She takes over the task from Michaela Enninger.

There were 18 members present at the meeting, and the Bucher Kfd has a total of 77. In addition to two members who died, there were three resignations last year.

The women looked back at the full agenda for 2023, which will take place again this year: Women's World Day of Prayer, palm bush binding, May devotion, Advent celebration and Advent wreath making for the parish church are the women's fixed program items.

They also decorate the church during the holidays.

Because two years ago, as reported, the parish council could no longer be elected due to a lack of candidates, the Kfd is now partially filling this gap.

The women organize a seniors’ afternoon every two months.

In the other months, Resi Kunstwadl and Ludwiga Italiaander take on this task - they are also Kfd members.

In addition, second chairwoman Perner actively supported the preparations for the Lenten soup meal in the parish meeting.

A popular highlight of the club's year are usually the annual trips organized by Marianne Köck, in which not only members but also seniors from the community can take part.

In 2023 we went to the Kleiner Arbersee in the Bavarian Forest.

“The weather wasn’t perfect, but it was still very nice,” recalled Haberl.

What the excursion destination will be in 2024 has not yet been finalized.

We are also currently discussing going to the theater together.
