Mishaps happen - but when your own cat helps you out, that's something special.
This is what happened to a TikToker who luckily has a smart kitten.
Do you know the feeling: you're in a hurry, sprinting to the door, which slams shut behind you, and then you suddenly realize that you've forgotten the key?
This is exactly what happened recently to Cemre Yilmaz, known on
TikTok
as @cemreyz.
But their solution was anything but ordinary and resulted in a viral moment that captured the hearts of the community.

Cat is there after a mishap
In one of her
TikTok
videos, Cemre documents the mishap when she accidentally locked herself out of her apartment.
In this situation, she would normally have had to call an expensive locksmith.
But Cemre had an unconventional plan B: her cat.
As many people probably know, cats are quite clever.
Cemre knew that with the support of her fluffy roommate, she might have a chance of getting back into her apartment.
So she started luring and calling her cat, hoping it would open the door for her.
After a few minutes of waiting and calling, Cemre's faithful companion actually managed to open the door and allow his owner access to the apartment.
A triumphant moment that led Cemre to affectionately refer to her cat as her “locksmith.”
In another clip, cats cause laughter in the TikTok community after a botched visit to the hairdresser.

Teaching cats tricks – not impossible
With a little patience, cats can learn tricks such as opening doors.

Cemre's TikTok
video
quickly received attention and praise from users.
Many admire the cat's abilities and even express a desire to teach their own pets similar tricks to avoid future key mishaps.
Although house cats are very independent, they can also be trained.
First, you should find out what motivates your cat.
Some cats love food, while others prefer a specific toy.
All you need is some patience, positive reinforcement and lots of repetition.
You can also teach tricks using so-called clicker training, which is more commonly known from dog training.
This is also particularly suitable for cats to reward precisely and immediately confirm desired behavior.
After clicking, a treat follows immediately.
Clicker training is ideal for keeping cats busy and offering them a welcome change.
