As part of a two-day trip to the metropolis of Lyon, Gérald Darmanin this morning promised the mayor of Villeurbanne the creation of a specialized field brigade (BST) of twelve men and a budget of 500,000 euros dedicated to the video protection, i.e. around fifty new cameras.

Figaro .
And added:
“I was touched that the minister took the step of coming to meet me and meet the residents.
It’s an important symbol for the residents who never gave up.”
Before
their meeting, the two men met the Tonkin Pai(x)sible collective which has been fighting for many months to improve the security of the neighborhood.
“Thanks to these additional personnel exclusively dedicated to Tonkin, and to the fight against drug trafficking, this will give the national police time to invest in other sectors.
It’s a real collective victory for the residents and myself,”
continued Cédric Van Styvendael.
In addition, two police commissioners who were missing from the staff should arrive in April.
Residents expect “results”
For their part, the residents of the collective say they are satisfied with the announcements but above all expect “results”.

We are happy that the minister came to us.
And we know that not everything can be solved in five minutes.
But above all, what we expect is for the quality of life to improve
,” says Tristan, a resident of the neighborhood.

”, hopes that the deal points, “
especially those near schools
” will be dismantled “sustainably

If there are arrests but the places of trafficking remain, for us that changes nothing.
For example, despite the clean-up operation, nothing has fundamentally changed in the neighborhood currently
