A fire broke out in the basement of a single-family home in Dorfen on Friday around lunchtime.
According to the local police, the cause was a defect in the gas heater.
Dorfen - According to initial investigations, there was considerable material damage, which the police put at around 30,000 euros.
Fortunately, neither residents nor emergency services were injured.
Shortly before 1 p.m., the Erding integrated control center raised the alarm for the Dorfen, Eibach and Zeilhofen fire departments, which responded with around 40 personnel.
According to a police spokesman, they managed to put out the fire at an early stage.
This meant they were able to prevent the house from being affected.
