After a weak performance, Aue secured a ticket to the semi-finals of the state cup.
Grimma - FC Erzgebirge Aue made it to the semi-finals of the Saxony Cup after a weak performance.
The third division soccer team won 2-0 (0-0) against upper division team SC Freital on Saturday.
In the Husarensportpark in Grimma, Aue had an extremely difficult time and was hardly able to create any scoring chances despite his superiority in play.
It wasn't until the 82nd minute that Mirnes Pepic made it 1-0.
In stoppage time, Steffen Meuer (90th + 4) made everything clear with a 2-0 win and secured a place in the semi-finals of the national cup.
Defending champions Lok Leipzig were eliminated by Oberliga side Bischofswerdaer FV.
The regional league team had to go into extra time at Wesenitzsportpark and was defeated 2:3 (2:2, 1:2).
