The announcement so feared by the British has finally come.
After weeks of rumors and speculation surrounding her state of health, Kate Middleton revealed on Friday that she had cancer in a video shared on her social networks.
A new blow for the British family, which announced last month that King Charles III was also suffering from cancer.
This Saturday morning, the word "shock", pronounced by the princess herself, covers the front pages of many press headlines, still stunned by the revelation, but also admiring the courage of the very popular wife of the heir to the throne.

In this video, Kate speaks again after months of absence following an operation in mid-January.
Looking tested and tired, she confides having gone through “incredibly difficult” months after the discovery of cancer, without specifying its nature, only specifying that she was following “preventive chemotherapy”.

“The shock of cancer” was written the day after the announcement by the Daily Mirror in white letters on a black background, saluting a “Brave Kate”.
Just like the tabloid The Sun, which headlines “Kate, you are not alone”, repeating the words of the princess who sent a message of support to all other cancer patients, assuring them that they were not “not alone” and urging them “not to lose faith or hope.”

Several other titles also wanted to remember the message of hope from Prince William's wife: “I'm doing well, I'm gaining strength every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal,” she said. she assured in her video.
Words repeated on the front page of the Daily Mail, which nevertheless describes an announcement which had the effect of a “bomb”.
“A terrible crisis for the monarchy but she WILL survive this”, wants to believe a journalist from the daily, while a columnist notes that “for once, (Kate) must concentrate only on herself”.

“I'm going to get through this,” also chose to retain the Times, which believes that the princess “deserves compassion” and respect for her “private life” to continue her fight against the disease.
Several newspapers have also exhausted the numerous speculations on Kate's state of health which have spread on social networks during her long weeks of absence, overtaken by this much-feared announcement.
“Online trolls who revel in a princess' misery should be ashamed,” writes the Daily Telegraph, while the Daily Mail wonders “how all those vile online trolls feel now.”

The long convalescence of the princess, usually one of the most photographed women on the planet, and the absence of information have fueled rumors and wild speculation for weeks, which the palace has not managed to stop.
On March 10, for British Mother's Day, Kensington released an official photo of Kate smiling surrounded by her three children, the first since Christmas, but she admitted to retouching the image, which further fueled the theories.
The British press was reassured at the start of the week by a new photo showing Kate smiling alongside William, before finally discovering on Friday the real reasons for her withdrawal.
