A 62-year-old overtook in the Bockhorn municipal area on Friday afternoon without being able to see oncoming traffic - the result was a head-on accident.
Bockhorn - according to the police, a 62-year-old was driving his BMW behind a truck on the state road 2084 Dorfen–Erding.
At Thal he finally started to overtake.
He overlooked the fact that a VW was coming towards him, driven by a 25-year-old.
Both were unable to prevent the collision.
The VW and BMW were significantly damaged in the impact.
The two drivers were able to free themselves, but the person responsible sustained minor injuries.
In addition to the police, two ambulances and the fire department were at the scene of the accident.
The important east-west connection was temporarily closed for accident investigation and rescue.
