The scene undoubtedly made motorists shudder during rush hour.
A truck driver was robbed and beaten by five hooded and armed men on Friday evening in Paris, near the Porte de Clignancourt (18th century).
It was 7:30 p.m. when the police were called.
A man has just been attacked at the entrance to the ring road, he is a transport professional.
He explains that an hour earlier, as he was preparing to enter the access ramp at the wheel of his truck, he was blocked by a gray Toyota which blocked his way.
Five hooded strangers came out.
One of them brandished a gun but no shots were fired.
He then struck the victim in the head with a rifle butt.
Then the quintet got back in the car before fleeing.
The firefighters then arrive on the scene and take care of the injured person.
He suffers from a head wound which is bleeding profusely.
The rescuers took him to Bichat hospital.
His state of health does not cause any concern.
For the moment, the reasons for this attack remain completely obscure.
And for good reason, the victim did not suffer any theft and is not able to explain the causes of this outburst of violence.
Mistake, road dispute or older conflict?
All hypotheses are being considered by investigators and so far no arrests have been made.
The judicial police are trying to unravel the mystery
The second judicial police district is responsible for carrying out the investigations.
Officials will carry out a neighborhood survey.
They will recover video surveillance images from city cameras which may have filmed the events.
And of course they will try to retrace the route of the two vehicles.
In the coming hours, the truck driver will be interviewed at the PJ premises to clarify the facts.
