Now four months before the start of the Paris Olympic Games, the modalities of the supervision planned by the State for the event are becoming clearer.

This Tuesday, the Ministry of the Interior sent an official note to its agents, to detail how it would maintain its activity during the summer.

As announced, they should receive a bonus for their mobilization, which will potentially be done during flexible hours.

As announced at the end of January by Gérald Darmanin, the agents are promised, at the end of the note, a “gratification aimed at recognizing the exceptional effort made by the agents”.

In the amount of 1,000 euros, the bonus will concern all those “whose presence was required by their department head throughout the duration of the Games” and who were therefore unable to take a summer vacation.

It could even be increased to 1,600 euros for “agents who have shown exceptional commitment”.

According to what the minister said two months ago, but which is not confirmed by the note, these would be people assigned to a department which is hosting an Olympic event", as well as "personnel moved as reinforcements » and CRS.

Adjusted schedules and postponed holidays

The note also mentions the organization of agents' leave, mentioning a "activity maintenance plan" and "a census of agents whose presence is essential" by the end of March 2024. In return, it agreed that one or two additional days be granted to people taking their days off outside the period from May 1 to October 31.

Enhanced leave and the fifth week of annual leave which could not be taken before the end of the year will be postponed to 2025.

The circular finally confirms possible “arrangements and exemptions” on working time, which “may be modified in order to allow a relaxation of the rules during the period (atypical hours, evenings, weekends in particular on Sundays, temporary modification work rotations for agents with fixed hours, modification of arrival and departure times).

In total, 30,000 police officers and gendarmes will be mobilized every day during the Olympics.

The police had also organized a strike in mid-January to demand a bonus of 2,000 euros and support on the issue of childcare.

A call to which Gérald Darmanin was quick to respond and to which this circular partially responded.
