On Tuesday afternoon, new road checks were organized in several points in the city. On Wednesday, focus on three deal points, located on the rue Paul Claudel side, the Aquitaine building and the Argonne residence.

At the beginning of March, the head of the Seine-et-Marne police announced the organization of large-scale actions of the “clear place” type at the rate of two

Antoine Salmon, the interdepartmental director of the national police (DIPN), announced it at the beginning of March: he had decided to carry out two “clearance” operations per month in Seine-et-Marne.

After the one carried out in Torcy three weeks ago, it was the town of Meaux which was entitled to a deployment of law enforcement for three days, at the start of the week.

Commissioner Henri-Louis Fouilland does not hide his satisfaction: “This operation makes it possible to deploy a large number of police officers on the ground, for a long time.

This allows us to act but also to collect information for our substantive files.”

Monday morning was devoted to the arrest of seven people, suspected of having participated in a brawl in Poincy on November 12.

Several dozen police officers were mobilized.

Six of the young people – aged 19 and 20 – were to be tried immediately, Wednesday, by the Meaux criminal court.

But due to the complexity of the case, their trial was postponed until May 15.

The defendants – suspected of having assaulted young people from La Ferté-sous-Jouarre during a “return match” – were placed under judicial supervision, pending the next hearing.

On Monday afternoon, the operation continued with road checks, carried out on avenue de la Victoire and avenue Jean Bouvin.

Results: 52 vehicles intercepted, giving rise to 22 tickets including 12 for speeding, 5 vehicle immobilizations, one impounding and the arrest of a motorist for driving under drugs and driving without a license.

The CRS 8, the equestrian brigade and the mobilized anti-drug dogs

The next day, a different atmosphere, since the police had targeted four businesses, subject to “Codaf (Departmental Anti-Fraud Operational Committee) controls”: a grocery store-butcher shop, two grocery stores and a fast-food restaurant, located throughout the city.

Representatives of the tax services, Urssaf and the DDPP (Departmental Directorate for Population Protection) were on site.

The checks made it possible to identify an offense of concealed work, the presence of pests and expired foods in certain businesses.

Results: formal notices against two managers.

On Tuesday afternoon, new road checks were organized in several points in the city.

On Wednesday, focus on three deal points, located on the rue Paul Claudel side, the Aquitaine building and the Argonne residence.

Here again, no less than 80 officials were mobilized: staff from the local police station but also municipal police officers.

CRS 8 (specialized in urban violence) - already present on Monday - was called upon again.

Without forgetting the presence of dogs specializing in the detection of narcotics and that of the departmental equestrian brigade.

In total, around 110 people were checked.

Three of them were taken into custody.

The police also discovered 250 g of cannabis, hidden in common areas of buildings.

In addition, nine wrecked vehicles were removed from public roads.

But above all, in partnership with the social landlord, “barricades” – which obstruct access to certain floors to facilitate drug trafficking – have been cleared.
