Students on the street 'hunting' for ideas and proposals to submit to the mayor to improve waste management: the protagonists of the initiative are the 3D dental technician students of the 'Alessandrini' institute who, dressed in the role of journalists, cameramen and ecological operators walked the streets and squares of Teramo to interview citizens and, where necessary, also collect small abandoned waste.
The children then developed a document with suggestions and proposals to be delivered to the mayor.
The educational trip is an integral part of the
'Zero waste school'
project promoted by the 'Rifiuti Zero Abruzzo' association - as part of the 2024 edition of 'School and Volunteering' of CSV Abruzzo - with the aim of informing students of volunteering activities and to spread eco-sustainability issues in schools.
The kids (
Vittoria Greta Ganci,
Silvia Maria Pirvù, Anastasia Ranalli, Meriban Muca, Claudio Marinelli, Beatrice Melanì Noto Malta, Nikoleta Palushi, Paik Israt, Anastasia Battipane,
Aurora Sallaku)
accompanied by the president of the association
Luciana Del Grande
and the teacher
Antonella Once they arrived at the River Park,
Censoni
, after having interviewed some citizens, met a volunteer from the Invisible Animal Protection (Tai) who highlighted the need to build green bridges to allow animals to cross highways, tracks and any other road that could represent an often lethal barrier.
After having witnessed an anti-war performance by the Liceo Coreutico
dance troupe in Piazza Martiri
and having addressed the issue of the lack of spaces dedicated to art, the children met the municipal councilor for culture,
Antonio Filipponi
: "on the topic of waste - he said - the Municipality is fully committed to achieving optimal management, also thanks to the collaboration of citizens".
Once back at school, the students identified various points for reflection on the critical issues and sustainable choices to put into practice at school and in everyday life, to be submitted to the mayor
Gianguido D'Alberto
.
The children were given a steel water bottle by the 'Zero Waste Abruzzo' association to combat the consumption of plastic bottled water at school and in everyday life.
