Piero Marrese (Pd), president of the Province of Matera and candidate of the centre-left for the presidency of the Basilicata Region in the elections of 21 and 22 April, was involved in a road accident which occurred last night while returning home, in Montalbano Jonico (Matera) .
He confirmed it to ANSA himself.
The car in which Marrese was traveling - driven by a driver - went off the road.
Both the driver and Marrese were unharmed, while another passenger suffered a broken shoulder in the collision.
"I didn't notice anything - explained the candidate for the presidency of the Basilicata Region - because I was sleeping at the time of the accident".
Marrese returned to work regularly this morning.
