Bird park faced major problems

The collapse of the foundation and the bridge that leads from the Volksfestplatz to the Vogelpark in August last year posed an existential problem for the park. Not only did visitors have to take a long detour via Esting to get to the park.

Providing the birds with food, transporting building materials and disposal also posed unprecedented problems for the bird park.

These were solved with the active support of the Olching volunteer fire department.

Oh, the snow left its mark

The city of Olching did not remain idle: the building yard created and paved a path between the football field and the bird park, through which the bird park can now be supplied and visitors can access it without a major detour.

However, renovations and repairs are still underway, as the heavy snowfall last December also damaged vegetation and aviaries.

Despite the difficult times, several hundred birds can be admired in the park.
