Over the past ten days, something has changed in the city center of Compiègne. Four street signs were illustrated with mosaics

“I spent the weekend in Compiègne with a friend and I left some memories…” Wherever MifaMosa travels, he always leaves mosaics in the streets.

These illustrate, in their own way, their name.

Since 2017, the street artist has wandered through dozens of cities in France, sowing more than 400 mosaics recognizable by its three small dots which represent his mother, his sister and him.

In Compiègne, four streets were thus honored: Saint-Corneille, des clochettes, du Croissant and even de l'Étoile streets.

“These cities always have a link with my personal life.

I did some scouting in advance, around two weeks ago and it took me a week to create my mosaics,” he explains.

Although he usually poses at night, he had to decide to do the one in Compiègne in the early morning because of the rain.

“Obviously, people saw me, but everything went well,” he smiles.

Sometimes things don't always go the way we want them to.

I have never been in police custody, but I have already come close to receiving large fines.

I arrive in a context where street art is better understood and appreciated by more people.

This is my chance.

A second session within a year?

If MifaMosa, who prefers to keep his name secret, only took a minute to place the shooting star in his starry sky on Rue de l'Étoile, it took him almost a quarter of an hour to install his haloed crow , rue Saint-Corneille, opposite the town hall.

“I did another scouting and some photos of plates.

There will be a second session but I think it won't be for a year.

» Rue de la Corne de Cerf already seems to inspire him.

Compiègne, this Thursday.

If MifaMosa took between 10 and 15 minutes to install its crow, the mosaic on rue de l'Etoile was applied in one minute flat.

This is not the first time that street artists have attacked the imperial city.

Nowart, street artist, had in 2020 scattered twenty portraits of Empress Eugénie all over the city, which gave rise to a treasure hunt organized by the town hall.

The same year, it was “Where’s Waldo?”

» which had been hidden here and there, above a roof, under a bridge.

Still in place, they still give rise to thematic walks.

“We still sometimes go for a family bike ride, following Charlie's route,” explains Charlotte, who comes across near Saint-Corneille.

I find that it brightens up the city, it makes it more joyful, more welcoming and more modern without distorting it.
