Discovering territories by walking around the world is one of the most pleasant ways to do so.
With the arrival of spring and good weather, the mountains of Spain are adorned with flowers and abundant vegetation.
It's time to put on some good boots.
You won't fail if you dare to walk one of these five trails.
GR 38, “the wine and fish route”.
From the vineyard lands in Oyón to the port of Bermeo, this route allows you to cross the Basque Country from south to north, crossing landscapes as diverse as they are captivating.
Its road still retains the aroma of the goods that circulated along it.
The cart drivers left from the ports of Bermeo, Ondarroa and Lekeitio with their mules loaded with fresh or salted fish - hence the name of the route - and on their return trip they loaded their carriages with wheat, salt, vinegar and wine.

Paco Nadal's five recommendations: trips to take in 2024
GR 131, also known as El Bastón.
This trail runs through the Canary archipelago from east to west through five of its islands.
Its continuous ravines make it an ideal journey for experienced hikers.
The architectural and ethnographic heritage also plays a leading role in this natural path.
GR 1 through the Hoya de Huesca.
A route through the Aragonese Pre-Pyrenees through its coniferous forests, mallos that rise majestically, its imposing castles - such as Loarre - and special places, such as the Guara canyons.
A spectacular combination of karst reliefs where canyoning is the star sport.
A long list of medieval towns complete this route of great natural, historical and heritage interest.
GR 7, the path that goes from Andorra to Tarifa and crosses the Els Ports natural park.
It is a labyrinth full of canyons, gorges, forests and limestone mountain ranges at the vertex between Catalonia, Aragon and the Valencian Community: pure Mediterranean landscape.
GR 203, a route where bears walk.
It is one of the main long-distance trails in the Principality of Asturias, which crosses the unknown municipalities of Narcea, Degaña and Ibias, as well as the Muniellos forest and the port of Leitariegos.
The first section through the Santa Isabel mountain range offers the best views of the Canguesa town and its surroundings reveal the wine-growing past and present.
The last stage includes the Golden Route, which runs through the ancient Roman dams.
