Several raids against oil refineries took place on the night of Friday March 22 to Saturday March 23, in the Russian region of Samara (south-east of Moscow).

Civilian killed in drone attack in Belgorod region
A civilian was killed on Saturday and two others were injured in a drone attack in the Russian region of Belgorod, bordering Ukraine, the regional governor said.

According to Vyacheslav Gladkov, Belgorod, the regional capital, was targeted on Saturday morning by strikes which damaged several residential buildings.
The Russian Defense Ministry, for its part, indicated that it had destroyed eleven rockets fired by Vampire rocket launchers coming from Ukraine over the Belgorod region.
The Belgorod region has recently been targeted by numerous drone attacks and strikes blamed by Russia on Ukraine, which have left more than a dozen dead in a week according to local authorities.
Fire in refinery attacked by drone
A fire broke out on Saturday March 23 in an oil refinery in the Russian region of Samara (Volga), located 1,000 kilometers southeast of Moscow, attacked by a drone, the regional governor said.
“This night, several drone attacks against regional oil refineries were committed
,” Dmitry Azarov said in a regional government statement published on Telegram.
One of these attacks caused
“a fire in the Kuïbyshevsky oil refinery
,” he said, stressing that no casualties were to be deplored.
The refinery managed by Russian oil giant Rosneft is one of the largest in the Samara region, with a production capacity of 7 million tonnes of oil per year, according to information available on its official website.
A drone attack on another oil refinery, that of Novokuybyshevsky, also located in the Samara region,
“was repelled without harming the technological equipment
,” according to Dmitry Azarov.

,” he said.
12 drones neutralized during the night, says Moscow
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense indicated in a press release that it had neutralized
