A month has passed since the 9-year-old Haymanut Kasao disappeared from the reception center on IDF Street in Safed, and since that day the investigation of the case has been at its starting point. which will lead to the discovery of the girl.

In another attempt to shake up the area, hoping for the appearance of a new item of information that will help in a breakthrough in the investigation, the Jewish Agency again appealed to the general public this weekend announcing that whoever provides information that will help in finding Heimnot, will receive a reward of NIS 100,000.

The announcement appeared in the Hebrew and Amharic languages in ads in the daily newspapers and it read: "The Jewish Agency offers a reward to whoever the police determine that information provided led to the finding of Heimnot."

"She was last seen at the reception center on February 25, wearing a pink sweatshirt with a black skirt over it and wearing white sneakers. Anyone who knows anything about her whereabouts is asked to call the 100 hotline at the police station."

The Jewish Agency said that the publication of the ads is another part of the effort, which is concentrated on many levels, to help the police and the family in the hope of bringing Heimnot home.

So far, the extensive publicity and the high amount of money offered have not helped the progress of the investigation and most of the inquiries were from people who gave advice and brought up different ideas for possible investigation directions, but no inquiries were made from people who contributed any information that could help.

As time passes, the number of searchers decreases and fewer volunteers arrive at the search area.

One of the volunteers who searched for many hours in the area of the reception center is Eric Mengista, a social activist from Mizfat.

He himself immigrated as a small child with his family from Ethiopia and then lived in the same reception center.

In the army he served as a fighter in Devdvan and in the current war he served for a long time in Gaza.

The day he was released and returned home, he immediately joined the search.

"I lived in the reception center for a long time and I know the area very well," he said.

"My logic said that if she was seen entering the upper entrance to the building and was not seen leaving, then it is likely that she left through one of the three openings in the lower part of the building. I know the building well and everything in its area. Also the permits that are a little further away. The scans that have been done in the area to date They were really thorough and intense. I feel great frustration that she still hasn't been found. It's a situation where it's hard to say that there's a certain direction of investigation that makes sense, just anything can happen, it just doesn't make sense."

He said that during his visits to the reception center he met with the girl's parents and according to him "they are really broken. Their beloved girl suddenly disappeared and the feelings of worry and denial are really hard."
