We often think of donating money to charities, less of benefiting a hospital.
However, these sums prove valuable for financing projects or arrangements for the benefit of patients and staff.
In Val-de-Marne, the Confluence hospitals, which bring together the intercommunal hospital centers of Créteil (CHIC) and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (CHIV), have just launched their endowment fund in order to encourage and facilitate this act of generosity.
Individuals, associations and companies can become patrons and contribute money.
They had already started testing the system in 2015 by creating the CHIC Idée fund for the benefit of the Créteil establishment.
“This made it possible to finance art therapy workshops for patients, for example,” explains management.
In 2022, this money resulted in the installation of audiovisual and technical equipment at the medically assisted procreation service to train caregivers in pelvic ultrasound linked to the exploration of infertility.

66% tax deductible
Pierre, a resident of Haute-Garonne, is one of these donors: “The mother of a childhood friend who was treated at the Créteil hospital center has unfortunately died.
Her daughter asked us to make a donation to the hospital rather than sending flowers for the funeral.

A generous sum facilitated by a favorable tax regime.
“People don’t necessarily know that this type of donation is 66% tax deductible,” recalls Pierre.
He encourages his peers to do the same thing one day: “Making a donation to a hospital is a useful gesture.
It is important to direct funds to hospitals, they need it, especially at the moment.

Fund research, cutting-edge tools, a health data warehouse…
The management of CHIC and CHIV is already imagining everything it could do thanks to the contributions of its precious patrons: “Acquire new cutting-edge equipment, modernize and develop premises, deploy research programs, organize workshops for patients or to professionals or major institutional and strategic projects for both establishments such as deploying a health data warehouse.

The board of directors will define the fund's action program each year.
An evaluation committee will pilot the annual implementation of an internal call for projects in order to select the wishes of the teams who will benefit from financial support or a subsequent specific donation collection.
The management adds that it is possible to help its two establishments also via legacies, donations, life insurance, in-kind donations or skills sponsorship.
