As announced and planned, Free Voters and the CSU in Markt Schwaben nominated second mayor Valentina Dahms for the election on June 9th at the weekend.

The members of the local associations of the CSU and Free Voters nominated the current second mayor Valentina Dahms as the joint mayoral candidate for the new election on June 9th with a large majority at separate meetings on March 21st and 22nd.
The CSU started on Thursday evening, before Valentina Dahms was able to convince the Free Voters of her candidacy on Friday.
Before the vote, in an application speech, Dahms, in addition to introducing herself, reviewed the events of the past few weeks and then addressed the current and future challenges.
These can only be adequately addressed if pragmatic, objective local politics come back into focus, it was said.
The last few weeks in particular have shown that the market community needs to return to constructive cooperation in order to move Market Swabia forward.
The joint candidacy beyond party political activism is an important step.
The newly elected candidate emphasized that there would be many groundbreaking decisions in the next few years in which the place would have to be set up for a sustainable future.
Examples of this include the reuse of the area of the existing schools and the implementation of concrete measures as part of the Integrated Urban Development Concept (ISEK).
It is particularly important to her to pick everyone up and take them with her.
This requires a communication concept that reaches the various population groups in the market town.
“We have to find creative forms of active political participation and participation, especially when it comes to crucial issues,” continued Dahms.
Separate events on Thursday and Friday in the brewery
It is particularly important to her to work for an active local life in which everyone can find themselves.
It's not just about the important preservation of culture and local heritage, but also about ensuring local supplies and an attractive townscape.
However, one should not ignore the difficult financial situation in the Swabian market.
You have to make a lot possible with the few resources available.
This can only be achieved if the administration, market town council and volunteers work hand in hand.
It was important for Valentina Dahms to emphasize that we are navigating in calmer waters today than just a few years ago.
It is of great importance to secure the business location in order to generate the trade tax revenue that is vital for the community.
In addition to existing companies and craft industries, unused areas could possibly also be used for new settlements.
Dahms calls for better cooperation in the market town council
In her speech, Dahms made it clear that she had worked closely with Mayor Stolze over the past four years.
At the end of her application, she motivated those present with regard to the upcoming election campaign.

At the beginning of the meetings, the chairmen of both local associations had already prepared their members for a joint candidacy for the deputy mayor and emphasized how important it was to pull together for the good of the place.
This is already happening in the local council, where joint proposals have been submitted on key issues.
The latter was also highlighted by the spokesman for the CSU/FDP market town council group, Heinrich Schmitt, when he formally proposed Dahms for the nomination at the CSU meeting.
He also trusts Valentina Dahms to create a constructive working atmosphere in the council across all factions.
She has often proven that she can build bridges and bring people together.
